Fox News engages Republican Debate viewers with Facebook, Telescope and the Vizrt Social TV solution

For the first Republican Presidential Debate of the 2016 election, Fox News wanted to give Facebook users the opportunity to submit questions to be asked live during the debate.

Leading up to the debate, Fox News utilized Telescope's uploader product. Users visited the Fox News Facebook page to submit their text, photo, or video questions for the candidates. Fox News then utilized Telescope's moderation tool to review and select questions to ask the GOP candidates live on air during the debate. Telescope’s integration into Vizrt’s Social TV Solution and Viz Engine, allowed Fox News to include the selected questions directly within their newsroom systems and visualize them on-air seamlessly.

This campaign was a huge success, garnering over 40,000 questions and 6 million views of the content submitted. The call-to-action video on Fox News’ Facebook was also viewed over 1.3 million times. A full montage of Facebook profile pictures of users who submitted questions was displayed on air during the live debate and four Facebook users got to ask their question during the broadcast.
