Watch our demonstrations from NAB 2016

At NAB 2016 Vizrt demonstrated new innovations and tools for launching ‘popup’ stations, multiplatform workflows, IP streaming technologies, a powerful video playout solution, and more.

Viz Story wins Best of Show award

At NAB 2016, Vizrt introduced the new Viz Story, winner of the TVTechnology Best of Show award. Viz Story allows media companies to quickly create compelling video stories with full real-time, state-of-the-art 3D graphics and easily distribute them online and to social media. The new tool makes engaging content rapidly available to today’s audiences on any device.

A tech preview of Viz Story's game-changing collaborative video editing was available at NAB. Multiple users anywhere in the world can edit a project’s timeline simultaneously from any browser, on any device.

The Viz One media asset management system integrates with Viz Story to create a single workflow for editing video, adding graphics and publishing online. Using Studio, the web interface for Viz One, users can search for video and then launch Viz Story to easily add in additional content. This makes adding graphics to the timeline very easy from a single interface.

Advanced Viz Artist design tools

Vizrt premiered the Viz Artist integration with Enlighten, providing designers with new tools to create higher quality photo-realistic virtual graphics. Enlighten's features include real-time global illumination, interchangeable colour lighting, accurate shadowing of materials and highly effective ambient occlusion.

Designers were also able to take a look at the new Viz Artist companion tool, Logicmaker. Logicmaker provides a visual and interactive way of creating new and modifying existing Transition Logic scenes. The web-based tool is typically run on a second screen, next to the Viz Artist. It displays all the toggle layers in the scene, giving the designer the ability to create, rename, replace and delete toggle layers.

A single Viz Engine - multiple use cases

Vizrt's high performance, video server and real-time graphics renderer, Viz Engine, was demonstrated handling video through the entire production process, from ingest to editing to playout. Housed in a single box, the video server functions as a multi-channel playout server for HD and 4K, supporting all formats, while also allowing streaming IP video in and out.

The Viz Engine video server can operate within a standard SDI workflow, and can input from and output to any IP format simultaneously, or render to IP if a broadcaster doesn’t have a traditional SDI workflow. This ensures that production workflow investments are maintained as any form of IP stream can be handled.

Vizrt is proud to take part in one of the world’s first on-air playout which will be based on ASPEN and done in conjunction with Evertz. Vizrt tools will also be used to go on-air with a SMPTE 2022-6 solution in the near future.

Advanced studio automation with Viz Mosart

At NAB, Vizrt showed a unique workflow that integrates studio automation and MAM to automatically generate multi-platform content. This workflow allows staff to focus on the live production, while the multi-platform content is generated automatically. Stories played out from Vizrt`s studio automation systems, are automatically prepared for online and mobile devices with custom graphics that accurately scale to fit any sized screen.

Weather Alerts

Vizrt's Weather Alerts solution was shown with many new enhancements, including animated alert maps, polygonal warning support, advanced alert automation support and more. In addition, broadcasters can now comply with FCC regulations with native text-to-speech support embedded in secondary audio channels.

2016 US election and social TV

Vizrt demonstrated an all-new, one-box solution with a custom touch screen application for the U.S. election night results, featuring global telestration, media players, social media, election maps, and live data feeds.

New features of Vizrt Social TV include native support for polls and new native integrations for viewer engagement built specifically for elections and live events. Users can also now send social messages straight from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to newsroom templates. The Vizrt Social TV demo included an interactive news and maps solution and a technology preview of the new web-based moderation interface.
