Escenic Content Engine™ 5.4 is now available
Version 5.4 is a minor release of Vizrt's web content management platform, Escenic Content Engine™. The update includes improvements for the managment of tagging, an overhaul of the Escenic Content Studio user interface, as well as a new Javascript API.
Escenic Content Engine 5.4 now supports tag aliases (or synonyms for tags). This allows you to add, for example, "Great Britain" and "UK" as aliases for a "United Kingdom" tag. Merging of tags will simplify the cleaning up of tag structures. When tags are merged, one of the tags retains its original name and the tags that are merged into it become aliases.

A Javascript API was included in 5.4 to provide an easy tool for adding menus, creating custom side panels, displaying notification messages and other functions. The javascript environment also provides some standard packages for performing mathematical functions, dealing with dates, regular expressions and XML data, performing HTTP requests and more.

Escenic Content Studio has a new user interface design that makes more effective use of vertical screen space. It reduces the need for scrolling and provides faster access to the most frequently used functions and information.
