Virtual Presenter took center stage at Canal + Champions League final coverage

The Virtual Presenter is a solution for interactive and immersive sports studio shows that is implemented on top of an existing Viz Engine and Viz Libero installation.

The Virtual Presenter, part of Viz Libero and a Vizrt solution that places your talent on the field with the players in a sports analysis clip, was used first time on air May 26 2013 by Canal+ in Spain. The Canal + presenter, Julio Maldonado, entered from the studio directly into the Virtual Presenter football pitch to analyze the UEFA Champions League game between of FC Bayern against FC Barcelona.

The Virtual Presenter is a unique solution for interactive and immersive sports studio shows that is easily implemented on top of an existing Viz Engine and Viz Libero installation.

The basis of the Virtual Presenter is a pre-produced Viz Libero clip. Viz Engine, Vizrt’s real-time compositor of graphics and video, takes in the Viz Libero clip and combines it live with a greenroom recording of the talent for on-air playout. Viz Libero’s high-quality camera tracking takes care that the talent, once positioned in the virtual scene, stays glued-to-field during the entire analysis clip.

The Virtual Presenter works for football and any of the many available Viz Libero sports. This is great news for the upcoming sport events like FIFA Confederation Cup and World Cup in Brazil, or the Olympic games in Sochi. Vizrt is looking forward to see many more Virtual Presenters around the globe in the near future.
