NAB 2013: Vizrt and Trendrr to demo Social TV platform that displays trends within real-time graphics

The second screen experience has revolutionized television by enabling a viable, ubiquitous interactive television platform. While watching television, viewers increasingly use their tablets and smart phones to watch “second screen” content and share their thoughts on what they’re watching with potentially millions of others on social media platforms.
Having real-time data that measures and analyzes the nature, volume, and patterns of this social media activity is a valuable resource for broadcasters. Social data analytics can show what’s trending, create “brand lift” for products mentioned in social posts, engage the younger demographic, and support sales, marketing, and advertising efforts.

The demonstration, taking place at Vizrt’s booth SL3305, will be one of several Social TV presentations by Vizrt and its key partners.

Trendrr.TV analytics can parse voluminous social data by gender, viewpoint, geo-location, or any social strata or demo. The data can also show the level of social activity, when it’s surging or waning, and correlate heightened activity with specific events or topics. Trendrr.TV data can be fed to Vizrt’s live broadcast graphics systems for real-time display including: Viz Artist for 3D graphics design, Viz Trio CG graphics system; Viz Pilot, a template-based graphics system; and Viz Engine, a real-time HD video and 3D graphics compositing and rendering system.
