Fox Sports Australia & Girraphic unveil the next generation of virtual graphics powered by Vizrt

FOX Sports Australia unveiled an innovative, new Vizrt fueled virtual graphics package across its Monday Night Football coverage.

Round one of the 2014 NRL season kicked off in style with FOX Sports Australia unveiling an innovative, new Vizrt fueled virtual graphics package across its Monday Night Football coverage.

Using Vizrt Virtual Studio and 24ft Stanton Jimmy Jib rigged with Stype Grip, Girraphic was able to provide Fox Sports with a finished virtual product never before seen by Australian audiences and never before produced on such a large scale virtual crane system.

"We thrive on innovation at Fox Sports, so to be the first in the world to do LIVE virtual graphics on a crane that size is a fantastic result for us," said Paul Slater, Fox Sports Director. "The actual 3D graphics we put to air - made by the guys at Girraphic - were the icing on the cake, everyone who saw the broadcast was quite taken by the result we were able to achieve."

Girraphic has recently emerged as a potent Vizrt creative services firm specializing in Virtual Studios and immersive content. Recent projects for Fox Sports Australia and Channel Ten’s coverage of the Olympic Games in Sochi have seen the teaming of their creativity with the ingenuity of the Stype augmented reality to create some visually innovative content.  “We are very proud of the result we were able to achieve for Monday Night Football launch,” said Nate Marsh, Girraphic Creative Director.

“At Girraphic we aim to push the limits when it comes to broadcast innovation and feel we solidly delivered on something new & exciting for the Fox Sports team that certainly has not been seen before on this scale at an OB.  The potential moving forward is very exciting as we explore more unique ways to enhance the NRL coverage."
