Viz Multichannel 2.9: Newly designed for a more efficient workflow

Viz Multichannel 2.9 has been released today with several new features that improve the content filling process and a new user interface.

Viz Multichannel 2.9 is the latest version of Vizrt’s system that makes it easy to utilize high-quality Vizrt graphics for channel branding. The application simplifies the playout of playlists, providing a single client that handles the playlist elements of one or multiple channels. Viz Multichannel helps to promote commercial messages on multiple channels in a fully automated way.

Page content filling with the Promo Server

The Promo Server is now the sole component for the Page Content Filling process. The Page Content Filling dialog has been extended to communicate with the Promo Server to query about known configured channels and their mapped attributes. This completely eliminates the need for any data-replication across multiple Media Sequencers for cross-channel promotions or the need to manually set channel or attribute-names in the PCF mapping dialog.

New user interface design

The main UI has received a visual improvement that includes the new fully branded Settings dialog. Included in the new Settings dialog is the improved As Run log component, that allows configuration of both normal and custom definitions as well as ability for a user to design the order of the data via a user-friendly drag-and-drop interaction.

Easy interfacing with automation systems

Third-party automations systems often trigger primary and secondary events in Viz Multichannel. Viz Multichannel 2.9 includes support for arbitrary meta-data for primary and secondary elements via the new Direct Interaction Architecture in the supplied Integration Modules (ADC/Harris and Marina/PB) and the ability to define a per-page duration directly per Rule. The update also includes the ability to hide the thumbnail column in the playlist and an option to opt-out of the automatic expansion of any playing primary element.
