Vizrt with finalists for four awards at the 2016 TVBAwards

Nominated workflows include live production, media asset management and IP production.

The TVB Awards, TVTechnology’s annual showcase of the media industry’s success stories, has announced their finalists for this year’s awards. Vizrt is proud to be with finalists in four categories in this prestigious event.

“Live broadcast production award” and “Innovation and R&D award for outstanding technical achievement”

The VRT-EBU LiveIP project is a finalist in these two categories. The LiveIP Studio is the world’s first fully functioning multi-vendor live production system based entirely on IP and IT technology. The Viz Engine real-time 3D graphics engine provides live IP-based graphics for the project. The LiveIP Studio recently won the IBC 2016 Innovation Award for Content Creation at IBC 2016 in Amsterdam and was used by IBC for their IBC TV productions.

“Achievement in asset management/system integration”

The PGA Tour’s Viz One media asset management workflow has been used for more than 70,000 videos and 5.3 million log entries with more than 3.5 petabytes of archived footage. Earlier this year the PGA Tour finalized their upgrade of the storage capabilities to multiple layers of metadata for easier logging and search and browser-based editing.

“Multiplatform production and delivery”

Expressen, one of Sweden’s leading news outlets, recently created Expressen TV with the idea that video is essential in today’s news reporting. Expressen TV’s entire technical infrastructure was built through a partnership with Vizrt in order for them to achieve the right balance between the production of broadcast-quality content that’s quickly and easily published onto an online environment.
