Viz Pilot Edge and Template Builder 1.0.2

The latest version of Vizrt’s powerful browser-based newsroom client includes new features for editing maps.

Vizrt, the world leader in advanced real-time 3D graphics, sports analysis & asset management for the digital media industry, announced today the release of Viz Pilot Edge 1.0.2. The release includes new features, improvements and bug fixes. Vizrt will demonstrate Viz Pilot Edge at IBC 2017 stand 7.A20.

Viz World integration

Maps are a key element to any news story. Adding a visual reference for where a story is taking place gives the audience a clearer understanding of the local impact. To enable easy map production, Viz Pilot Edge includes a new “Edit map” feature inside the fill in form. This new feature is in addition to the bookmarks feature where the user is able to browse a feed of maps favourites created inside the Viz World client. The “Edit map” feature is only available when the Viz World client is installed and configured on the same Windows machine as where the Viz Pilot Edge client is operating.

The “Edit map” feature in Viz Pilot Edge opens the Viz World Client, allowing the journalist to edit maps and save them to the template. Once the map location is defined, the journalist can accept the new map or cancel the actions from the Viz World Client.

Template Builder improved performance

In addition to various bug fixes & minor improvements, Template Builder, the tool that allows template designers to customise auto generated fill in forms, has benefitted from improved performance when editing rows and when editing templates with a large amount of fields. The performance improvements benefit the template designers allowing them to focus on creating templates that will be powerful, yet easy, for the journalist.
