Shefayim, Israel Czech TV is taking on a new look, following the national broadcasters purchase of an RT-SET Larus Virtual Studio System (VSS), which opens the doors to new viewing experiences for their audience.

RT-SET, the world leader in virtual studios, has supplied a three camera system to Prague-based Czech TV who will use it for news, sports programmes, game shows, and special events such as elections. They also bought RT-Preview (real time preview), 3D-Prompter and RT-Shadow, three of a number of options available for the Larus system.

Czech TV, the national TV station of the Czech Republic, extensively studied virtual studio systems and chose RT-SET for its wide range of features, product quality, open systems technology and its ease of use as well as the advanced RT-SET support programme.

Commenting on the purchase of the system, Rudolph Pop, the Czech TV technical director in charge of the project said, The television viewer in the Czech Republic is demanding greater sophistication from our programmes, so we are responding to this by purchasing a system that not only transforms the look of some of our programmes, but also allows us to develop new content and expand our programming concepts. We are particularly interested in using the RT-SET Larus system for game shows, making our news coverage more lively, upgrading our sports programmes and making our elections more viewer friendly with graphical displays generated on the system.

David Zerah, RT-SET European Sales and Marketing Director, said, At RT-SET we are proud to add Czech national TV to our rapidly growing family of customers. This is particularly satisfying because they carried out a detailed examination of all virtual studio systems available today.

Their professional and detailed examination showed that the RT-SET Larus system is not only the right technology for their needs today but also the right technology to take them into the next millennium.

RT-SET, a subsidiary of BVR Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:BVRTF), is the creator and developer of the Larus and Ibis Virtual Studio Systems. Virtual Studio Systems (VSS) enable real-time computer-generated virtual sets and environments to be used in live and taped broadcast and cable television, post-production, interactive programming and other content-intensive video production.
