Avid

Avid

Vizrt products support Avid iNews, Avid Media Composer, Avid NewsCutter, Avid Interplay PAM, and Avid Unity Isis. With Viz Pilot the journalist has complete control of graphics templates directly inside iNews. With Viz One editors gain access to media and metadata. All sizes of Avid setups are supported, from just a single suite to the largest multi-workgroup environments in the world. With Viz One the entire Avid workflow becomes faster, requires less storage, and can be controlled via our open APIs. Using our graphics plugin, editors control graphics templates from within both Avid Media Composer and Avid NewsCutter.

Viz Pilot

Avid’s iNews, newsroom control system, interfaces directly with Viz Pilot so journalists in the newsroom add both graphics and videos directly to an iNews rundown inside the native iNews client. During playout operators can trigger playlists of graphics and videos in Viz Pilot against an iNews rundown.

Viz Engine

With our graphics plugin for Avid Media Composer and Avid NewsCutter, journalists, and graphics artists gain access to one of the world’s most powerful rendering engines – the Viz Engine. Adding Vizrt graphics is as easy as dragging a Vizrt effect to your sequence, and selecting which template and data to use. During rendering graphics are fetched from the Viz Engine, and a finished flattened file is created. Vizrt’s plugin for Non-linear editing systems allows editors to have access to templates extending the branding from live on-air to pre and post-production.

Viz One

Viz One is tightly integrated with Avid’s many news production tools – allowing Viz One to play a central role in the production workflow. From central ingest and archiving, journalists can pre-edit using simple proxy tools like Precut – while material is ingesting, and send cliplists and EDLs directly to Avid. Regardless of where the source material is, the used parts that do not already reside in Avid will be sent over together with an AAF. An editor can then simply open the AAF in Avid Media Composer or Avid NewsCutter to continue editing. The finished story can be posted directly from the seat into an iNews rundown. Viz One intelligently tracks where media is when used with Avid Interplay, thereby minimizing bandwidth to/from Avid. In fact, Viz One will even perform much of the story rendering to lessen the time an edit seat must be tied up with rendering. Producers in the newsroom can also search content in Viz One and edit videos and add videos directly to an iNews rundown. With Avid Interplay, Viz One uses Avid Interplay Web Services (IPWS), and all media transfers are performed through Avid Media Toolkit (AMT), future-proofing the design through compliance to open standards.  All sizes of Avid setups are supported, from just a single suite to the largest multi-workgroup environments in the world.
