Viz Video Wall ER™

Shift the video wall into overdrive with super-high resolution graphics

Vizrt presents Viz Video Wall ER™, the solution that provides a whole new way of displaying content.

Viz Video Wall ER has practically no limits when it comes to wall size or layout. The solution allows to create unique installations that surround the viewer and go far beyond the capacity of traditional video-wall setups. Viz Video Wall ER has a wide range of purposes in addition to regular studio broadcasting: It is perfectly suited for entertainment and educational productions, as well as interactivity in live broadcasting. Viz Video Wall ER can even be used in outdoor environments. The solution integrates seamlessly with other Vizrt solutions without requiring changes in the workflow.

Ease of use

Moving from a traditional way of displaying content towards Viz Video Wall ER technology is simple. Adopting the new technology is intuitive for both administrators and users, and the solution is cost-effective and future-proof for the organization.

Continuity

Even though output changes dramatically, working routines remain the same. Viz Video Wall ER seamlessly integrates with established workflows. This means that designers, journalists and control room operators can concentrate on what they do best – the creative process.

Flexibility

With Viz Video Wall ER, broadcasters can start out small-scale, then expand if needed. A basic installation includes two Viz Engines, which includes all the benefits of a full installation. Such a setup produces quality output over any number screens.

Quality enhancement

If the need for more power and higher resolution arises, the installation can be easily upgraded.

Every additional engine increases the graphics capabilities so that virtually unlimited resolutions and wall sizes can be achieved. The workflow for the operator remains the same, no matter how many engines are being used. When two or more Viz Engines are used in tandem, the rendering load can be split asymmetrically. This means that the resolution of one area of the screen can be higher than another. This is particularly useful when the camera is taking a close-up and parts of the screen are shown in detail, which requires a higher resolution display. With Viz Video Wall ER, pixelated low-quality images are a thing of the past.

New purposes

Viz Video Wall ER makes it possible to create unique installations that surround the viewer and go far beyond the capacity of traditional video-wall setups. In addition to regular studio broadcasting, Vizrt’s solution suits both entertainment and educational purposes. It can also be used in live broadcasting through touch-interactive screen surfaces, and outdoors, for large display panels, as in sports stadiums.

Integration

Viz Video Wall ER can easily be integrated into existing Vizrt solutions. It is possible to create powerful 3D effects with Viz Artist that take the impact of video walls to a whole new level.

Typical configuration

A typical configuration consists of a video wall with 12 screens, which are driven by three Viz Engines. The operator controls the content using either Viz Content Pilot or Viz Trio. The graphical content is then sent to the Video Wall Distributor Server, which splits each scene in three parts (according to parameters laid down in the initial setup). The server also guarantees that the three Viz Engines are synchronized. Each Viz Engine then renders its designated part of the video wall, sending the data to the distribution box, which then distributes each of the three signals to different parts of the wall.
