Viz PreCut makes the journalists' work easier and more efficient. It allows
them to open low-resolution versions of video files and roughly cut them in
a way that suits their story best.
Even though Viz PreCut is a tool for the newsroom, it has many features that
can normally only be found in more complex applications: Users can browse
files while they are being ingested without having to reload the entire
clip. No need to send files across the network or to try to explain the
video editor how and where to cut a certain clip.
Similarly, Viz PreCut users can also easily open different video files, create
clips, and add them to an Edit Decision List (EDL). This way the journalist
can concentrate on defining the correct edit points while a professional
video editor implements the changes with a more powerful non-linear video
editing application.
Since Viz PreCut is a part of all of Vizrt's MAM systems, it integrates
seamlessly into the digital asset management workflow. By adding meta data
to their newly created clips the journalists make sure that the latest video
files are instantly searchable and accessible from both Viz Video Hub and
Viz Ardome.
