Viz PreCut is single video window, quick cut editing tool originally designed
for newsroom media management operations where there is no need for
professional non linear editor (NLE) systems for composing and creating new
material. It is a low-resolution browse and basic video editing tool that is
simple, reliable, effective and fast with an easy to use graphical user
interface that runs in a low end PC environment.
Like the fully fledged Viz EasyCut, Viz PreCut can also browse growing and
ingesting files continuously without reloading the entire clip via an
automatic refresh mechanism. Similarly, Viz PreCut users can also easily
open different video files, create clips, and add them to an Edit Decision
List (EDL).
Several operations can be sent to an NLE for professional editing, such as
creating a story or creating clips. It is also possible to create still
images with a similar approach.
With all these operations, is the editing of metadata, which ensures any
created clips and material can be easily searchable in the Viz Ardome MAM
system.
