Context-enabled shows
With Viz Trio it is now possible to build context-enabled shows. The built-in
support for context switching allows the same data to be used for different
shows. At the push of a button the operator can move from from the six
o’clock news to the nine o’clock news. All graphics will change to the nine
o’clock news theme while retaining their former information.
Look-Ahead Transition Logic™
Look-Ahead Transition Logic is unique to Vizrt. It makes sure that for any new
page taken to air, the system automatically performs optimal transitions
between existing and new graphics elements. Graphics elements intended to be
on the screen at the same time are put in different logical layers. The
concept of independent layers makes it possible you to put on air any
combination of graphics and still control them independently of each other.
Custom logic
Viz Trio is not only a preconfigured application, but its behavior can be
customized to your workflow needs, by using its built-in macro language and
the support it offers for assigning script logic to graphics templates.
Visual Data Tools
Viz Trio supports Viz Artist 3’s new Visual Data Tools (VDT) plug-ins for
showing information as bars, graphs, lines, pies, scatters or stocks. Charts
can be edited in the same way as common spreadsheets. As Viz Trio supports
the ADO interface, it is also possible to connect to any database or
spreadsheet that supports it.
Connectivity
Apart from integrating with other Vizrt systems, Viz Trio also integrates with
major newsroom systems, automation systems, general purpose interfaces and
non-linear editing system.
Newsroom integrations
Viz Trio easily blends into the editorial workflow as the templates can be
accessed through any major newsroom system using Viz Content Pilot’s
Newsroom Component and the Quick CG tool. Both tools enable the journalist
to have full control over the look and feel of the storytelling.
Non-linear editing system integrations
With the Vizrt NLE plug-in, graphics templates from a Viz Trio system can be
used within the non-linear editing system without any modification. All the
standard Viz Trio controls and features which allow the user to change text,
images, 3D objects, scaling, positioning, duration and so on, are made
available within the system. Currently, Viz Trio supports Avid, Quantel, and
Apple’s FinalCut Studio. Some advanced features, such as Transition
Logic scenes, scenes with sound effects, and stop point control are
currently only supported in the live version of Viz Trio.
Viz Link enabled
Viz Trio allows operators to fill out graphics templates and add video files
to them. Available clips can be searched within the Viz Video Hub database
and be edited using non-linear editing systems like Viz PreCut or Viz
EasyCut.
From within the Viz Trio interface it is possible to choose templates and edit
them according to the user’s demands. Headlines can be added and video files
can be searched and added to the template directly from Viz Video Hub. The
end result can be instantly previewed on the operator’s machine with a
low-resolution version of the selected clips.
Multiple clients on one output channel
Multiple Viz Trio clients can prepare graphics simultaneously, without tying
up the on-air graphics channel during the preparation process. Further,
during playout, multiple clients can operate one output channel. Different
operators can be assigned specific responsibilities for individual graphics
components, for instance during election broadcasts and live sport events.
Vizrt product suite
Vizrt’s character generator can work as a stand-alone unit, or it can function
as the starting point for broadcasters who want to begin building a fully
integrated and efficient core graphics system.
Standard rack-mountable hardware
The system contains no proprietary hardware but works with standard, rack
mountable PC hardware for quick and easy updates. It is compact and simple
to install, making it ideal for remote broadcast use.
