See how it looks on the inside

Check out our selection of screen shots from within Vizrt's Online Suite.

Functionality is arguably one of the real strengths of Vizrt's Online Suite. Every day, some of the world's most demanding editorial teams rely on it to deliver an intuitive and efficient workspace.

Escenic Content Studio provides a simple desktop environment to manage text, images, video, graphics, maps, tags, time-controlled content and supports an open, continuous, editorial workflow for digital publishing.

Working with text

Setting

up a new article is simple. Start by adding a title, a short lead text and body content. Drag and drop related stories into the new article by searching the search panels to the left. An example can be seen by clicking on the image to the right:

Note that Escenic Content Studio instantly notifies users of any misspelled words. Look for a red line below your words after they have been typed. If you want to add or approve a new word, simply right click

it and add it to your predefined dictionary. See how it works by clicking the image to the right:

Adding images
Within the desktop environment, adding images is straight-forward. Escenic Content Studio supports a drag and drop workflow, which allows journalists or other content creators to simply pull a picture straight from the desktop. Once imported, Escenic Content Studio lets you adjust sharpness, brightness and contrast, depending on your needs. You may also open an image in an external editor. Any changes will automatically affect the version already within the desktop environment.

Images can be

cropped into a large amount of predefined sizes, making them suitable for carousels, the all-important front page, or a subsection where you want images to appear slightly bigger. See an example by clicking the image to the right:

A complete video workflow
After joining forces with Vizrt, Escenic Content Studio has been streamlined in order to simplify video workflows. Existing Vizrt customers will enjoy how different products now come together and transform video publishing into something fun and much more simple.

Within Escenic Content Studio, a typical workflow starts by creating a video story. After launching Vizrt's built-in Viz Content Pilot client, search up your video and press transcode in order to make it available to a range of devices - online video players, iPads, iPhones, other smartphones, ect.

The desktop environment will inform you during the transcoding process. As soon as it's completed, the video is automatically added to the story.  See illustration to your right:

Publish whenever you want

Escenic Content Studio supports time control, allowing a story to be published at a certain point - without the need for an on-site journalist. An example is a story with strict limits to its release date. Programming its publishing to a certain time and date allows the journalist to focus on other stories, knowing it will appear online in due time:

Tag it!

Before you publish your story to the world, tag it in order to increase search engine optimization. Escenic Content Studio will display your recent tags and allow you to add new ones, resulting in more hits.

After the story has been published, making adjustments to different subsections is easy. Add a shorter title on the front page, and maybe a longer lead text on a specific

subsection. See an example by clicking on the image:

Once your story is ready to be published online, simply set the state to: "published" (stories appear as "draft" by default).

Within a larger editorial environment, a journalist typically puts his story into an "approved" state first, allowing the editor to publish it when the content has been proof read, double checked and approved by several individuals. You may also edit the byline if several reporters have been working on the story.

This is how a story

could look after having completed all the steps.
