Viz Arena 4.4.1

Vizrt is pleased to announce the release of Viz Arena 4.4.1. We strongly recommend upgrading to this version as soon as possible.

Viz Arena 4.4.1 is maintenance release with bug fixes and additional support for customizing the visibility of window elements. Please refer to the What's New in Viz Arena 4.4 document and the Viz Arena User and Administrator Guides for additional information on the added features.

New Features

Arena Control application improvements

  • Added support for switching between a user-defined and the default workspace showing all window elements.
  • In the user-defined workspace some window elements can be individually hidden.
  • The last state of the user-defined workspace is stored and recalled when the application is started again.

Permanent ads support

  • Permanent ad positions and scales are now stored per project and re-applied when switching between projects.

Fixed Issues from Previous Versions

The following issues have been fixed compared to previous versions of Viz Arena:

  • When pressing “Continue All”, the application no longer switches to Live mode if SDI output and operator video source are always the same.
  • Video could unexpectedly switch from live to replay mode after triggering certain effects.
  • Magnifier size was not re-applied when switching between effects.
  • Magnifier did not get triggered if the current calibration was invalid.
  • Width of freehand line and arrow tools are no longer sent to Engine containers to simplify the creation of customer specific graphics.
  • Application could unexpectedly terminate when switching between Live and Replay drawing modes.
  • Application could unexpectedly terminate when removing existing Viz Engine connections.

Viz Engine Compatibility

  • Viz Arena 4.4.1 has been tested and is compatible to Viz Engine 3.7.1 (official release). Integration with Viz Engine needs to be set up and configured according to the Administrator Guide.
  • In order to use the Scene Browser feature, a Graphics Hub REST service needs to be installed on the corresponding Graphics Hub.
  • Default Viz Engine configuration files are provided with the Viz Arena installation files.

Installation Notes for Windows7/x64

To install Viz Arena 4.4.1 on Win7/x64 systems, the following items are required:
