Viz Multichannel 2.6.1 Release Notes

These are the release notes for Viz Multichannel version 2.6.1. They describe the changes that have been made to the software since version 2.5.1

System Requirements

  • Windows XP Service Pack 1 or higher OR Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit
  • MS .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and 4.0
  • Viz Media Sequencer 1.20 or higher (1.21 is recommended)
  • Viz Engine 2.x or higher (3.x is recommended)

Installation Notes

  1. Start the installer.
  2. Click "Next".
  3. Choose "Complete" or "Custom" installation: "Custom" allows you to specify location of application. Default is "C:Program Files (x86)VizrtViz Multichannel" (on 64bit system).
  4. Click "Next" after making your choice.
  5. Click "Install".
  6. Click "Finish".

Upgrade Notes 2.5.x to 2.6

  1. Uninstall previous version
  2. Install 2.6 as outlined above
  3. Run MCP 2.6
  4. Open Settings form
  5. Select "Update Settings"
NOTE: If you need to use Any XML or Any Text import types:
  • Please refer to Import Guide section to setup your mapping settings.

NOTE: If you choose to not uninstall the old version but use the 'Modify' functionality in the installer then old settings-files need to be manually migrated if using the default installations-paths. The default-path has changed from ex 'C:Program FilesVizrtVizMultichannel' to 'C:Program FilesVizrtViz Multichannel'.

Removal Notes

  1. Go to Control Panel
  2. Start "Add and Remove Programs" (XP) or "Programs and Features" (Win7)
  3. Select the "Vizrt Viz Multichannel" entry and click "Remove" (XP) / "Uninstall" (Win7). This will launch the software installer.
  4. When launched choose "Remove" and click "Next" to start the process.
  5. Click "Finish".

Functionality removed or changed

  • Auto-generated demo content channels is no longer created after install (MCP-2002)
  • Deletes secondary event that has same offset and with a duration higher than zero (MCP-1528)
  • MCP converts all modified templates (and editable templates) dates to current date (MCP-1567)
  • "Empty Field Value" setting can now be used if user wants blank to be forced in any field (MCP-1147)
  • If "Values for Secondary Event types" is not set then all non-primary will become secondary event (MCP-1523)
  • Splits events by date with day switch timing (MCP-1554)

  • Adjust Default DataBaseServer name in MuC configuration dialog to correct value (MCP-2091)
