This version is fully compatible with Viz Engine 2.x and 3.x.

The update is recommended for all customers that are interested in the new features described below. It is also highly recommended for customers that operate Viz Engine and Viz Artist 3.x together with Viz Weather as this version includes many bugfixes related to the Viz Engine 3.x support.

This is a minor update release.

Major new feature is the Background Renderer, see details below.

It requires a previous installation of the last major release, Version 8.0

Viz Engine and Viz Artist version 2.8 patch level 5, is the first official release to support the new Matrox X.mio2 boards. All Matrox X.mio2 users which currently use RC versions of Viz should upgrade to the official pl5. Note the information about the new Matrox SDK which is required.

Other than that, it is a bugfix version, with important bugfixes for Viz Artist and Viz Engine running on Panasonic CGP platforms.

There are some other bugfixes and new features, which are relevant to all users. If it is time to upgrade your installation, choose to upgrade directly to pl5.

The new Datapool version includes a few new plugins, some new features, enhancements and many bug fixes.

It was decided to skip the official release of version 2.8 and jump directly to 2.9.x. It is highly recommended for all 2.8 (unofficial) users to upgrade to the new 2.9.2 version.

Users Guide and Tutorial were updated to include the new features of this version.

Viz Client Side Library is for development partners and selected customers doing advanced operations with Viz products.

This version of CSL is asynchronous and event based, intended to be used for advanced GUI applications. It includes significant changes in the internal architecture and the API since previous 0.2.x versions.

This version is biased towards Viz Trio and Viz Ticker3D.

The latest addition to the NLE plug-in set, is the Mac-based NLE editor that integrates with Final Cut Studio 2 systems: Final Cut Pro, Motion and Final Cut Express.

Unlike the Windows-based plug-ins, the Mac-based NLE plug-in comes with its own user interface (Viz NLE Editor) and a configuration tool called Viz NLE Config. Viz NLE Editor supports browsing and previewing of Viz Trio templates and pages stored on the MSE in addition to images stored on the Viz Engine. The Viz NLE Config tool is for configuring the plug-in and Viz NLE Editor.

Viz Curious Maps Client (CMC) is used to integrate maps & geographical data into scenes. Installation files contain Plug-ins and the Viz Curious Maps Editor (CME) to be used by Viz Artist, Viz Trio, Viz Content Pilot or Viz Weather.

The version numbers of Viz Curious Maps Client (CMC) & Curious Maps Server (CMS) are now unified. As a result the CMC version number has jumped from 1.4.X to 8.2.
