Viz Trio version 2.9.0 released

Version 2.9.0 of Viz Trio is a minor release with new features and bug fixes.

New in this version is a complete Unicode support throughout the system as a whole, a significant number of stability fixes, and several other bugfixes and enhancements. See the attached release notes for details.

It is recommended for users who require the new features, bug fixes or for new installations.

If you plan to upgrade from an older version, it is recommended to upgrade to this version.

Viz Trio

New Features

  • Future support for two graphics cards that will enable Viz Trio to configure local preview and program renderers.
  • Full unicode support throughout the Viz Trio interface, and in Viz Engine objects like scenes, images and so on. This requires Viz Engine 3.2 and later.
  • Support for page thumbnails in the page list that are based on the local preview/rendering when a page is saved.
  • Various new commands.
  • Viz Trio now has HTML help files.

Functionality removed or changed

  • All documentation, including release notes, are now placed in a "Documentation" folder accessible from the Start menu.
  • Log files are now located in %APPDATA%\Vizrt\Viz Trio\. There is also a shortcut to this folder accessible from the Start menu.
  • Support for merging context-enabled shows when importing a Viz Trio archive.
  • Optimzed playlist when loading a large number of elements.

Fixed issues

  • Stability fixes.
  • Unicode and Latin-1 fixes.
  • Functional and performance improvements to page list and playlists. Opening a playlist should be up to twice as fast now.
  • Overall improvements to the Viz Link workflow.

Viz Media Sequencer Engine

Fixed issues

  • Fixed the mechanism that deletes old log-files.
  • Fixed a bug causing the MSE installer to fail when installing on systems where the 'Application Data' folder contained special characters.
  • Transfer of clips now works for non-concept enabled shows in Trio.
  • No longer telling Viz to add empty images, result being no more "image location invalid" errors in situations where we have elements with ControlImage without an image set.
  • Fixed a bug that could make the Media Sequencer crash when using the set as next functionality in the Ticker Client.
  • Fixed a bug introduced in 1.19.0 which made it unable to run scrolling carousels in a ticker system.
  • Fixed a bug in 1.19.0 that made ticker elements using the Time To Live feature to stop working.
  • Overall improvements to the Viz Link workflow.
