The PTZ3 PLUS camera range offers a host of features; let’s break them down in more detail for you:
AI presenter tracking
PTZ cameras are found in more places than ever, but often without dedicated camera operators, or inexperienced operators. Integrated presenter tracking AI removes the headaches of camera setup and manual tracking, to ensure talent is always in shot. Simply use the software UI’s “Tracking” tab to easily fine-tune your tracking options, including:
Initial face detection
Intelligently tracks presenters even when they face away from the camera; for example, if they’re presenting from a virtual or physical screen and turn to face it.
Presenter memory and tracked target switching
Presenter memory ensures the camera won’t switch even if someone else enters the frame – unless you want it to, with tracked target switching making it easy to switch between presenters. Choose from switching left, right, or to first tracked.
Blackboard detection
Intelligent blackboard detection identifies if the presenter has entered a “presentation area”, e.g. with a whiteboard/blackboard, and will lock in place as the presenter moves around it for a more enjoyable viewer experience.
Adjustable framing ratios
Perfectly frame your talent by choosing from six framing ratios; 1/6 up to 1/20 ratios.
Subject framing
Choose whether your presenter is framed to the left, center, or right of the frame.
Tracking limit windows
Keep the camera within a set range by setting a tracking limit window with top left and bottom right frames. This helps ensure the camera doesn’t track off-set or break a green screen effect.
Home position time out
Decide when the camera stops attempting to track a presenter after they leave the range of the PTZ3 PLUS camera or your set tracking window and return to a default home position. Choose from 0.5 to 10 seconds timeout, after which the next presenter to enter the frame becomes the next tracked presenter; ideal for lecture, meeting, and event capture.
FreeD-over-NDI|HX
FreeD is a commonly used protocol that sends the axis of camera movement – position (X, Y, Z axis), rotation (pan, tilt, roll), and lens data (focus and zoom) through UDP packets over a network. It is often used to integrate AR graphics into live broadcasts, such as Viz Virtual Studio, and usually requires its own cable to transmit this information, making camera setup with XR/AR systems more complex. With the PTZ3 PLUS and UHD PLUS, FreeD open-source metadata is embedded in every frame within NDI|HX, radically simplifying the setup of solutions like Viz Virtual Studio Go out of the box. Combined with pre-configured lens files, broadcast-quality AR/VR graphics are now within reach of every content creator.
Professional phantom-powered mini XLR audio
Use the phantom-powered Mini XLR connection in addition to the standard line-in. Delivering clean, professional-level audio directly from the camera into the NDI network, the mini XLR feature offers an array of connectivity options. When combined with NDI Audio Direct, the XLR audio connects to NDI receivers and virtually any audio software providing unprecedented levels of creative flexibility.
Phantom power delivers +48v to powered microphones and requires a two-step confirmation in the UI to avoid accidentally sending power to non-powered mics.
Multicast Mode
Optionally allow multiple destinations to receive video from your NDI®｜HX PTZ Camera without individual point-to-point connections to conserve network bandwidth.
NDI® | HX3 Output
Acquire and deliver video to the network in full UHD or HD (depending on your camera model), with NDI®️|HX output and native support for resolutions up to 2160p or 1080p at 60 frames per second.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Streamline installation and reduce cabling complexity, optionally eliminating the need for a separate power supply connection with support for Power over Ethernet via POE+.
Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ)
