Viz World - Map Editor (v24)

Note: As we transition to this new service, please note that the Maxar SecureWatch and Microsoft Bing Maps satellite services will be deprecated on June 30th, 2025. Customers using the Maxar SecureWatch or Basic Bing Maps satellite services must update to Viz World 24 by 30th June 2025 to avoid potential disruption in service. Existing Maxar SecureWatch subscribers will seamlessly transition to the new Maxar MGP Pro service and there will be no additional cost involved. A new license will need to be issued, so please speak to your Vizrt Account Manager to get this.

The Maxar subscription tiers remain the same from the SecureWatch service to the new MGP Pro service.

  • 1 GB of data with attribution to Maxar
  • 6 GB of data with attribution to Maxar
  • 1 GB of data without attribution to Maxar

As before, you can add additional GBs of data to your subscription plan if needed.

Why use Maxar MGP Pro for your satellite imagery

As before, you can add additional GBs of data to your subscription plan if needed.

  • Improved viewer experience
Ensure your broadcast maps look professional and engaging with consistent, 30cm high-resolution imagery.
  • Improved accuracy and recency
As of 2025, Maxar will update the base map quarterly, compared to the previous annual update. Most other map services refresh every year or less.
  • Stay up-to-date
Maxar customers have constant access to the latest maps through Viz World thanks to online map access. Never worry that you’re using outdated and incorrect maps again!
  • Better cost predictability
Stay on top of your usage with monthly data usage reporting available from your Vizrt Account Manager. Using too much data for your subscription tier? Scale it back if possible, purchase additional GBs, or upgrade to the next tier. Using less data than you expected? You might be able to downgrade to another tier.

For Viz World customers not currently using a satellite service (or using other 3rd party services), this update offers a great opportunity to improve your map graphics and viewer experiences with the leading satellite service from Maxar.

Microsoft Bing Maps customers

The free Basic tier of Bing Maps is being deprecated on the 30th June 2025. The Enterprise tier is being deprecated on the 30th June 2028.

Therefore, Viz World customers using the Basic Bing Maps tier must upgrade to Viz World 24 and subscribe to the Maxar MGP Pro service by the 30th June 2025 to avoid disruption in service.
