The media and entertainment industry stands at a transformative crossroads. As storytelling evolves through new technologies and platforms, the skills needed to thrive must evolve too. That’s why Vizrt was proud to participate in the second World Skills Café, a global forum that brings together industry leaders to address one crucial question: how do we prepare the next generation of media professionals for success?
Hosted by the Global Media and Entertainment Talent Manifesto, this event provided a vital platform for exploring how our industry can respond to change with purpose and collaboration. For Vizrt, participating wasn’t just important – it was essential to our commitment to nurturing tomorrow’s storytellers and technologists.
Joanne Lewis-Rhodes Shares Industry Insights
Vizrt’s Joanne Lewis-Rhodes took center stage as a panelist for “Navigating Mid-Careers in Our Changing Industry.” She brought both expertise and authenticity to discussions about how mid-career professionals can adapt, grow, and lead through industry transformation.
Joanne represented Vizrt with clarity and personality, offering practical guidance for professionals navigating an industry in constant motion. Her participation reinforced our belief that sharing knowledge and experience is fundamental to building a stronger media community.
Why Talent Development Matters
The World Skills Café surfaced critical themes about the future of work in media and entertainment through keynotes, panels, and networking opportunities. These conversations highlighted a fundamental truth: shaping the future of media means investing in the people who will lead it.
At Vizrt, we understand that our responsibility extends beyond creating innovative technology. We must actively invest in people, share knowledge, and work collaboratively to ensure the next generation of creative professionals can thrive in an evolving landscape.

On Air 2025: A Global Student Broadcast
The Talent Manifesto’s next initiative promises to be groundbreaking. On Air, scheduled for October 16, 2025, will be the biggest global student broadcast ever undertaken. Students from universities worldwide will produce at least one hour of live content each in a 24-hour relay format.
Starting in Sydney and ending in Los Angeles, the broadcast will connect 17 locations globally. Hosted from Ravensbourne University in London and streamed via YouTube, this project will showcase emerging talent while connecting students with peers across continents.
Vizrt’s Partnership Commitment
Vizrt contributes to On Air as both sponsor and active partner. We’re providing essential equipment and software at zero cost to support the primary production hub at Ravensbourne University, including:
Beyond equipment, we’re delivering comprehensive training resources to help students and staff maximize our technology’s capabilities. A custom Flowics template package in On Air brand colors will simplify workflows and reduce setup complexity for student producers.
We’re also joining the ON AIR Project in Bergen, where our committee and the Norwegian Media Cluster will host a workshop. Forty students will produce a news broadcast using Vizrt tools, streaming their final segment live to the global event, showcasing future media professionals.
Building Tomorrow’s Media Leaders
The World Skills Café and upcoming On Air initiative demonstrate what becomes possible when industry expertise meets educational ambition. These collaborations create pathways for emerging talent while strengthening our entire industry ecosystem.
At Vizrt, we believe that investing in people isn’t just good business – it’s our responsibility. By sharing knowledge, providing access to professional tools, and creating opportunities for hands-on experience, we help shape the storytellers who will define media’s future.
The conversations started at World Skills Café will continue through initiatives like On Air, proving that when education and industry unite, extraordinary possibilities emerge for the next generation of media professionals.
