TriCaster Vizion simplifies live event production in five important ways, allowing media organizations to focus their resources on important things.

5 Key Takeaways from Vizrt’s 2024 Sustainability Report

At Vizrt, our commitment to sustainability is more than a goal; it’s a responsibility we share with our partners, suppliers, and employees. Across 2024, we’ve worked to integrate sustainable practices deeper into our operations, guided by a dedicated internal committee that reviews progress and drives continuous improvement. Here are five key takeaways from our 2024 sustainability report:

1

A Calculated and Transparent Approach to Measure our Emissions.

Over the past year, Vizrt has made significant strides in advancing our sustainability commitments, with a central focus on refining our emissions reporting processes. By establishing 2024 as the baseline for our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, we’ve improved accuracy and set the stage for tracking our progress. Notably, Scope 3 emissions, which account for 94% of our total footprint, have been a key area of attention. We’ve gained deeper insights into categories like Purchased Goods and Services, Business Travel, and the Use of Sold Products, allowing us to identify impactful opportunities for reduction. Transparency has been a defining feature of our approach, as we’ve prioritized open data reporting and engaged actively with stakeholders across our value chain. By aligning our efforts with global sustainability goals, including the Paris Agreement, we’re contributing to a low-impact economy while encouraging sustainable practices in our industry

A Supply Chain Made Responsibly

Sustainability in supply chain management took center stage in 2024. We evaluated the environmental and social impact of our large-scale suppliers, addressing improvement opportunities in areas such as logistics emissions and carbon footprint monitoring. These efforts enabled us to cover up to 90% of our procurement spend with aligned sustainability standards. Recognizing the need for broader engagement, we extended our focus downstream by working closely with Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers. Workshops and tailored education sessions empowered these suppliers to assess and reduce their carbon impact. Looking ahead, we aim to onboard additional suppliers and invest in third-party tools that enhance supply chain transparency and minimize geographical risks.

3

A Sustainable Workforce & Inclusive Culture

At Vizrt, fostering a sustainable workforce and an inclusive culture remained at the heart of our efforts in 2024. We empowered employees to actively participate in sustainability through initiatives like “Bike to Work” campaigns and serving 50% vegetarian meals at internal events, creating a workplace culture focused on reducing individual carbon footprints. Beyond internal measures, our employees made meaningful contributions to the community through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, participating in food drives, beach clean-ups, and technology donations. A standout initiative was the holiday toy drive, where our teams collected gifts to bring joy to underserved communities, reflecting Vizrt’s deep commitment to social impact.
Simultaneously, we prioritized diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), addressing gaps and fostering representation within the broadcast technology sector. Our continued collaboration with RISE supported women in broadcasting through mentorship programs that offered career development opportunities and guidance. We also celebrated their achievements by sponsoring the RISE Awards, promoting industry recognition.
Additionally, our partnership with the Global Media & Entertainment Talent Manifesto drove impactful programs to bridge talent gaps in technical and engineering roles. By collaborating with educational institutions, we introduced career pathways and advocated for inclusive hiring practices.

4

We are now CSRD Ready

This past year marked a milestone for Vizrt as we completed our first Double Materiality Assessment in alignment with ESRS requirements. This initiative underscored our commitment to understanding and addressing our key sustainability issues through a comprehensive process. By engaging a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders; including employees, suppliers, customers, and investors, we gained valuable insights into their concerns and expectations. Our assessment process combined stakeholder interviews with in-depth research to identify and prioritize sustainability topics relevant to our operations. Each identified issue was then evaluated for its potential environmental and financial impacts, as well as associated risks and opportunities, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

5

Strengthening Governance Through Policy Updates

In 2024, Vizrt reinforced its commitment to a robust policy framework by introducing and updating several key organizational policies. Building on foundational policies from 2023, such as the Code of Ethics, whistleblowing guidelines, and DE&I policies, we reviewed and enhanced our suite of IT and security policies, ensuring they remain aligned with the evolving needs of our global operations.
Key additions this year included the Group Delegation of Authorities Policy, which clarified approval rights across critical sectors like sales, procurement, HR, and acquisitions, fostering greater efficiency and transparency. Similarly, the Risk Management Policy was introduced to standardize the assessment and mitigation of potential risks, safeguarding our business assets and supporting corporate objectives.
The introduction of a Tax Policy highlighted our dedication to compliance, outlining clear responsibilities for stakeholders and minimizing tax risks where legal and appropriate. Additionally, the Global HR Policy set new benchmarks for equity, inclusivity, and employee well-being, reinforcing fair practices in talent acquisition, compensation, and workplace standards. Supporting this were meticulously crafted manuals on harassment prevention, data protection, anti-bribery, and competition compliance, among others, all underscoring our commitment to ethical and legal excellence.
These comprehensive policies form the backbone of Vizrt’s governance strategy, ensuring accountability and fostering a resilient, value-driven organization.

We pride ourselves on innovative storytelling, and Viz Arena has allowed us to deliver augmented visuals live in-play, oftentimes showing dynamic content immediately after it happens. Our early work with Fox Footy over a decade ago quickly became the gold standard in data-driven storytelling. It was quite innovative for us back then, and from that point, it became the driver in all Australian broadcasters. Jerome Guzzo, Champion Data

Don’t forget to include:
  • 1. Document Overview list view is handy to have open so you can see labeled areas indicating where some edits can be made
  • 2. Slug is the URL. Once you save a draft with a page title, it defaults to that unless you edit it. Editing the slug URL to be more concise is a benefit at times.
  • 3. Meta Description is an SEO-friendly description.
  • 4. Keyphrase Synonyms is where the bulk of your keywords will go. Separate each keyword or phrase with a comma. These are all supporting keywords to the Main Keyphrase (see item #7).
  • 5. Featured image: This is part of the meta-data and auto-populates any query card image on hub pages. Page Titles and Subheadings are also elements needed to populate query cards and metadata.
  • 6. Excerpt This auto-populates on query card text. If left empty, it will default to the first bit of text on the page. This can be the same as the Meta description.
  • 7. Focus Keyphrase is the main Keyword. The inputs for this and the supporting keywords are in slightly separate areas, making it a little confusing.
