David Lowe
Certified Pro Viz Artist Designer
David lives in Sydney, Australia and holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Wollongong, along with a Certificate IV in Screen from North Sydney TAFE.
He has worked at Network Ten in Sydney since July 2010 and was originally hired as an editor, however, three years ago he took a position as a graphic designer. David works predominately with news and general presentation graphics. Over the years he has worked on or contributed to Ten Eyewitness News First at Five, Ten Presentation, Studio 10, Wake Up, Ten Late News, Breakfast, Sports Tonight, and a number of smaller productions.
“I loved the idea and challenge of creating graphics in a live render environment. I knew of Viz, had an idea of what it could do, and knew that we weren’t getting the most out the system we had installed.”
David has been working with Viz Artist for the last 3 years, since he started working as a designer. His biggest project to date has been working in their presentation graphics, re-designing and re-configuring them to be more robust, allowing for promotional graphics and theme changes to be integrated seamlessly into their normal workflow.
“For example, when I started it took a few days to change or update Ten’s normal watermark. Now however, using a combination of scripting and data-pool, it can now be done on the fly and can be amended easily when changes need to happen.”
