Broadcasting a complex production in six weeks – ITN
With notification of the UK General Election in June, ITN had six weeks to prepare for its ‘Election 2024 Live: The Results’ broadcast hosted by Tom Bradby – 12-hour production spanning two presenter studios, two galleries to power overnight coverage, and a third gallery to produce a ‘world feed’ for the network’s international clients. Central to the production is ITN’s Viz Virtual Studio set up, enabling the broadcast of the elections evening news broadcast promptly followed by a reimagined, VR-powered election special a mere hour later, with immersive graphics.
Repurposing virtual studios for the race to Number 10 – Sky News
The 2024 UK General Election has been a race to Number 10 like no other. With the hotly anticipated exit poll one of the Election’s most-watched moments, Sky News leveraged an immersive, to-scale augmented reality Downing Street to bring it to life.
With powerful graphics provided by Viz Engine, the broadcaster is unlocking new capabilities with its existing Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football studio, repurposing it to help tell the story of election night on 4th July. Sky News is the first of many broadcasters utilizing the benefits of flexible studio technologies, all of which are enabling existing spaces to be repurposed. Coupled with its Viz One News MAM to capture and edit incoming feeds from all around the country, utilizing Vizrt tech helps Sky deliver more stories better told.
