Al Jazeera brings a heavily data-driven approach to elections with AstuceMedia and Vizrt

Al Jazeera is using their massive video walls and studio to bring in live election data and analysis enhanced by AR elements to help expand on the story – all rendered with Viz Engine. Behind the scenes, Astucemedia’s Data platform is bringing real-time AP data to producers. In a user friendly interface, producers can monitor election data, historical data, and trends from polls including poll tracker data from various sources, then make their own projection decisions as needed. Data feeds are synchronized among multiple Viz Engines for visualization and Al Jazeera’s websites. Coverage is in multiple languages and studios including AJ English, AJ Arabic, AJ Mubasher, and AJ Balkins, located in Doha and Sarajevo. The live productions are controlled using the Viz Mosart automation system.

Newsday launches new streaming channel on election night with Viz Engine 4

The well-known Long Island newspaper is launching its new streaming channel on election night using Vizrt as their composite engine for video and graphics. The entire production, including newsroom graphics, virtual set and AR graphics are running on Viz Engine 4. Their studio video wall, vertical monitors, and ticker graphics are done by just three PCR operators using Viz Mosart and Viz Arc. All graphics heavily rely on election, weather, and news real-time data feeds powered by Polygon Ipsum data from Polygon Labs.

CNN’s election system coordinates control of all of their graphics

CNN has been using Vizrt tools for their daily news coverage for many years. This year is no different but with the addition of Viz Multiplay and Dynamic Channels controlled by CNN’s in-house election system, as results come in, the election system triggers content to video walls, lower thirds, full screens, and many other graphics. This ensures that data is syncronized across all platforms. Viz Multiplay controls the many videos walls in both their Hudson Yards studio in New York, as well as their D.C. studio. Viz World is being used to create maps on each surface and Viz Engine is rendering all of the graphics throughout the production.

CBS News built their new election headquarters in Times Square and have outfitted their election coverage with a wide variety of tools to aide their analysis. Multiple videos walls throughout the studio, controlled by Viz Multiplay, show candidate info and results. An interactive screen using maps from Viz World allows the presenter to look at the numbers state by state. AR is added to the studio for additional analysis and results using Viz Virtual Studio controlled by Viz Arc. Full screens and lower thirds are all controlled with Viz Trio, and all the graphics are rendered in real time with Viz Engine. LED tickers are also controlled by Viz Multiplay.

Fox News turns Studio F into an immersive election headquarters
